Body Type: 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Looks the part. Swing Mechanics: Open stance from the right side. Barrel flows to a vertical launch during his knee pinch movement with lower half. Hit: Level path with feel for contact. Used the whole field in BP with more pull side tendencies than oppo. Physical kid with a fast bat. Solid round. Power: 79 mph exit velocity. Much more jump off the barrel than exit velocity would indicate. Offensive Projection: Middle of Lineup Potential. Run: 4.51 H-1st. Field: Registered pop times of 2.06-2.16. Above average skill set across the board who I could easily see being a sub 2.0 thrower this summer. Throw: Big arm behind the dish. Ball jumps out of the hand with 77 mph arm strength to second base. Defensive Projection: C.
3/19/16
6-foot-1, 155-pound prospect. On the mound the righty works through an over the top slot that creates a natural downward plane for his fastball, that sat 73-76 mph. His 12/6 shaped curveball showed signs of sharpness with good depth at 64-66 mph. Starts in a wide catching stance with a high crouch. Tendency to windup in his transfer creating some length to it. Steps wide with his footwork. Reached a top velocity of 71 mph - with some carry to his throws. Pop times between 2.10 to 2.44. Needs to continue cleaning up some of his mechanical issues, but interesting follow. At the plate he uses a simple hands back load during his stride forward. Gets the bat in and out of the zone quickly with a short, compact swing. Registered a top exit velocity of 76 mph. Ran a 7.78 60-yard dash.
