RHP/1B, (2023) Turpin High School, OH. 6-foot, 200-pound. Solid on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a clean arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. He has downhill shoulders with a athletic balance point. Lands square with recoil finish. Threw his fastball 85-88 mph. Had slight running action. Begins in an athletic tall stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick quick. Bat speed is efficient, exhibits an uphill swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 79 mph; has sure hands, a natural exchange, and quick feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.35. On the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 81-82 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2147; Avg 2107). Has slurvey action on his 11/5 curveball (68-70). (Max spin 2193; Avg 1765). His changeup (75-77) showed fading action.
Clark Helgason: RHP/1B, (2023) Turpin, OH. 6-foot, 200-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 91 mph. Physical bat that can do damage when he connects. Strength is apparent and batspeed is there as well. From the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 84 mph. Fluid actions, solid ball skills and above average arm. Corner profile. On the mound, produced a fastball that came in at 76-79 mph and topped out at 79 mph. Curveball (68-69 mph), changeup (74-75 mph). Fastball was heavy, breaking ball showed signs of sharpness and changeup was a more than serviceable third offering.
