Cooper McKenzie: C/3B, (2022) Wheelersburg, OH. 6-foot-3, 215-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 87 mph. (58.26 mph bat speed average). (18.66 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic open stance with a small controlled load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was efficient, showed a level swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels in his round. Line drive approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 74 mph; showed consistent feet, sure hands, and a natural clean exchange. Behind the plate, throw downs to second were maxed at 73 mph; has average feet, a natural fluid exchange, and consistent hands. displayed next-level catching ability by boasting a 1.97-2.03 pop time. A righty swinger that starts in a tall stance. Uses a leg kick for timing as hands stay quiet through load and into launch. Downhill path with a swing that offers a balanced combination of strength and speed. Impressive feel for the barrel. Line drive guy who should grow into gap abilities as physical maturation takes its course. In the infield he plays with quick, quiet feet while reading the baseball. Plays low and fields the ball out in front of body. Ball skills are on parr to slightly above average for class. Fluid transfer with the ability to use multiple arm angles. Also showed an above average skill set across the board behind the dish. Exchange skills are quick and arm is accurate with strength on par for class. Solid young player to follow.
