6-foot-1, 165-pound right hander brought some good tempo to his outing. Hinz showed a lower ¾ arm slot along with some shorter arm action in his motion as his fastball was around 75-77 mph. He topped out at 78 which is expected to increase as he gets into better throwing shape. His stride down the mound was short, but effective. Possibly increasing that length could promote a greater drive down the mound and increased velocity. Another improvement needed would be to keep his front side stronger and staying more connected to prevent it from flying open causing his balance and motion to be thrown off. He also brought good intent behind each of his pitches which is a plus and can allow for constant velocity if that effort is matched each pitch. A right-handed hitter that starts in a open setup. Keeps hands quiet during his leg kick load and controlled stride. Swing is compact on a downhill plane. A line drive type guy presently with more to come as he fills out and adds loft to swing. In the infield he plays with aggressive footwork, cutting down distance off the bat. Fields the ball in the middle of his body before transitioning into throws. A good athlete who moves well to both sides. Actions look more athletic outside his funnel.
