9/17/17 Enrique Ozoa is a name college coaches should get to know. It was our first time seeing the Hilliard Bradley product and he was very impressive. At the plate he has a swing that builds up through tempo throughout his swing sequence. Swings with intent and can do damage when he finds the barrel. Topped out at 88 mph exit velocity off the tee. In the infield he plays much faster in game than in showcase. Glove and feet point towards best fit being second base but with his mid 80s arm strength across the diamond the left side of the infield wouldn’t be out of the equation. On the mound his ¾ arm action allows him to tunnel his low to mid 80s fastball with his very sharp slider. The type of arm who can make right-handed hitters consistently uncomfortable. Body Type: 5-foot-7, 155-pound smaller, athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, slightly open stance. Hands stay loose throughout leg kick timing trigger. Hit: Compact stroke with intent behind it. Looks to do damage up there. All fields hitter that flushed the baseball often in BP. Power: Much more pop than frame would suggest. Turned on a few balls with authority. Easy gap abilities. 94 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Multiple roles. Run: 6.82 60-yard dash. Field: Very quick feet with the ability to create efficient angles. Ball skills are well above average. Solid defender. Throw: Big time arm. Ball jumps out of hand with easy carry through target. 92 mph velocity across the diamond. Defensive Projection: 2B/3B. Additional Comments: Two-way prospect whose stock is likely its highest as a backend guy out of the pen but could easily see him doing both in the right situation.
9/25/16 Body Type: 5-foot-7, 155-pound smaller, athletic frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athletic actions/good mover on the mound. Loose, slinging arm action through a slot with obvious arm speed. Keeps getting better and better each time we see him. Fastball: One of those fastballs you can hear due to high spin. Sat 88-90 mph throughout outing. Challenges hitter with the pitch and can move it around the zone. Curveball: Sharp, 11/5 shaped breaker with later action to it. Not quite a wipeout pitch yet but more than serviceable.
Slider: One of the best offerings we saw on the day. Very rarely do we use the term “plus” but it may apply here. Changeup: Flashed it a few times. Maintains arm speed. Pitch has late fading actions. Pitchability: Threw strikes for the most part.
