6/6/17 At the plate he starts balanced with his barrel vertical. Hands move back to launch during his stride. Natural tools stand out immediately. A strong kid with some bat speed. Ball jumps off his bat. Consistently drove the ball with authority in batting practice. Does a nice job of staying inside the baseball. In the outfield he uses calm footwork approaching the baseball. Plays through the ball adequately and gets rid of it quickly. Arm strength stood out. 60-yard dash: 7.16 Outfield Velocity: 86 Exit Velocity: 90
1/28/17 6-foot-3, 195-pound prospect. The right-hander uses max effort through a quick tempo delivery. Works from on over the top slot with a short arm action. There is some obvious arm strength (topped 85 mph), but he did struggle with command on this day. Fastball was mostly straight with occasional arm side run. That pitch sat 78-83 mph. The curveball has 11/5 shape, the pitch has some depth and bite sitting 70-71 mph. He’s still developing feel for a straight change at 70-73 mph. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Use a double tap load and controlled stride to get his lower half involved. Big time potential at the plate. Long levers with impressive bat speed. Has power potential in there. A very athletic hitter with a ton of tools to work with. Projects as a corner outfield type. Still on the raw side. Fields the ball to outside of his glove side, but needs to consistently maintain momentum through his throws as well as square up lower half. Throws from an over the top slot with some carry to his throws.
