2/2/19 Body Type: 5-foot-8, 175-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in an tall stance. Vertical barrel with knee pinch movement to lower half. Hit: Fluid, loose swing with feel for contact. Ball comes off well, generating regular backspin. Impressive combination of feel and strength. Very solid round of BP. Power: 83 mph exit velocity. The ability to lift the ball naturally makes him a constant extra base hit. Drove the ball to each gap in BP. Offensive Projection: middle of the lineup guy who could hit for average and his fair share of extra base hits. Run: 4.81 H-1st. Field: In the outfield he uses short, quick footwork in his approach. Ball skills are above average for class. Looks like an infielder out there. Also worked out at third base where he looked much more natural as a defender. Actions are fluid and feet are well timed. Ball skills are more than adequate for the position. Throw: 69 mph arm strength across the diamond and to home plate.Loose, clean arm that looks to have more strength. Throws were consistently on target. Defensive Projection: 3B/Corner Outfield.
1/28/18 Uses aggressive footwork in the infield, cutting distance off the bat. Although he looks to be sure handed he would be aided by creating angles with fet prior to fielding to play through the baseball more efficiently. Behind the dish he creates direction with feet, showing average exchange skills. Pop times will improve as footwork speeds up and arm comes along. At the plate he uses a bat tip load during his leg lift timing movement. An upper half dominate hitter the generates both whip and strength through the zone. Can do damage when he finds the barrel. Much more pop than exit velocity would indicate. On the mound he works with a smooth tempo to his low effort delivery. Arm is clean while moving through a high-¾ slot. Momentum tends to carry him to first base side at finish. Fastball stays straight through the zone at 66-68 mph. Maintains arm speed on changeup that has a fastball look out of the hand. Also will spin an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with gradual action.
