Gavyn Smith: SS/RHP, (2022) LaSalle, OH. 6-foot-4, 185-pound projectable athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 92 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is above average, uses a flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Barreled up multiple balls throughout the round. Up the middle approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 75 mph; has a clean exchange, soft hands, and rhythmic feet. Showed a ¾ slot and a loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Projectable on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows some effort. Sat with his fastball at 80-81 mph; has a consistent control that shows tight movement. He showed a 11/5 curveball (68-70). Had fading action on his heavy changeup (71-73).
