Begins in a balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed is above average, exhibits a flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Behind the plate, he produced a position velocity of 77 mph during throw downs. Behind the plate, he recorded a position velocity of 77 mph during throw downs; had quick feet and transfers on his throw downs, recording a 1.97-2.04 pop time. On the mound, showed above average arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 79-80 mph. (Max spin 2117; Avg 1997). 11/5 sharp curveball (66-70). (Max spin 2017; Avg 2015). His changeup (67-68) has sinking fading action.
