9/17/17
Took an impressive round of BP. Starts in an athletic setup before initiating movement through a leg kick timing trigger. Barrel flows through load into a downhill launch at swing decision. A contact type guy with barrel feel. Line drive swing in general. In the infield he plays low and under control. Fields in middle of his body and transitions well into transfer. How arm develops will likely determine which side of the field he ends up on. On the bump he offers a fastball/breaking ball combo, working through a near over the top slot. Arm action is long back with a slight delay in there. Fastball will sit 72-75 mph and stay mostly true through the zone. Breaking ball showed big, gradual movement while working on an 11/5 plane.

8/1/17
5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitting prospect generates lower half energy through a toe turn. Barrel moves back fluidly at release. Bat works on a downhill plane and he showed feel for the barrel. Strength stood out as his top tool at the plate. Leveling out his path would help him produce more consistent ball flight. Has the natural tools to hit in the middle of the lineup. In the infield he plays with fluidity and under control. Has some bounce out of his stance and has above average lateral mobility. Hands are soft and ball skills are average to slightly above average. Made all the plays in his defensive eval. On the bump, the right-handed pitching prospect brings an athletic, strong frame. Uses a slower pace tempo to a delivery that requires little effort. Drop and drive type guy that creates adequate momentum with lower half. Momentum carries him towards first base line at finish. Arm action is long and arm high some whip to it as it works through a high ¾ slot. Fastball stays mostly true through the zone with occasional arm side run. Did a nice job or keeping his fastball low in the zone and worked the corners. Puts good spin on his breaking ball that works on a 11/5 plane. The pitch shows big gradual break and has enough velocity difference to keep hitters off balance. A strike thrower that was consistently in the zone with both offerings.
