A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Scouting Notes: Continues to get better each time we see him. 6-foot-3, good athlete with a clean arm. Ball jumps out of his hand. Fastball sat in the mid 80s, touching 86mph. Complements the heater with a big breaker that he has feel for. Also tosses a developing changeup. Has the look of a guy who has a hig velo ceiling. Fastball: 84-86mph. Fastball Spin Rate: 1743-1907 Breaking Ball: 1174-1679 Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 75-76mph.
7/16/19
Body Type: 6-foot-2, 160-pound thin frame. Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that uses a slight back load during smooth leg lift timing trigger. Hit: Rotational swing sequence with developing natural tools. Both strength and speed are comparable through the zone. All fields approach with more authority to pull side presently. Power: 82.7 off the bat in BP. FLashed gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Run producer potential. Field: In the infield he plays under control with smooth tempo throughout. Ball skills are on par for class. Rangy defender. Throw: Arm is top tool as a defender. Ball jumps out of his hand with easy velocity. Defensive Projection: 3B.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: A high leg kick that is smooth to the plate before getting leap towards the plate last second. A ¾ arm action that generates whip throughout delivery. Fastball: 79-82mph. Arm side movement on a max effort pitch. Comfortable with the outside corner. 1,900-2,000 rpm spin rate with high 90% efficiency on Rapsodo. Curveball: 64-66mph. Thrown on a 11/5 plane with tight spin and a sharp break. Thrown in the zone consistently. Pitchability: Strike thrower.
6/11/19
Body type: 6-feet, 155-pound thin frame. Swing mechanics: Little bat tip. With smooth lower half that engages his entire body. Hit: Line drive guy to the pull side. Swings with intent and produces backspin up the middle. Power: Flashes pop to the pull side, and could have more as he develops. Offensive projection: Top of the lineup guy. Field: Smooth feet with above average ball skills. Skill set plays on the left side of the infield. Throw: Arm really works. Loose with much more to come to add to already above average strength. Defensive Projection: 3B/SS.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athleticism shows on the mound. Good mover with a mobile lower half. Arms is loose/on time. Other than slightly cutting himself off with lower half everything works very well. Definite candidate for a velocity jump down the road. Fastball: 82-84 mph. Pitch has life to both sides of the plate and he isn’t afraid to work to either. Curveball: 67-70 mph. Well above average offering. Works on a 12/6 plane with sharp, late bite. Used the pitch to get ahead of put away. Pitchability: Filled it up with both offerings. Additional Comments: Dominated in his outing, striking out all five hitters he faced. Going to be a good one.
5/30/18
A definite follow for when physical maturation takes its course. Arm is very quick and loose through a high-¾ slot. Very mechanically efficient getting the most out of his smaller frame. Ball comes out well with the fastball sitting, 79-81 mph. Going to throw as hard as frame allows. Two-way prospect. A right-handed bat with athletic actions in the box. Top of the lineup type bat that can work to all fields. Should see more juice as strength arrives. In the infield he plays with urgency, getting to and through the ball quickly. Transfer is smooth and arm shows well across the diamond.

A 5-foot-9, 115-pound prospect. In the batter’s box he hits from the right-side, starting in a balanced setup. Hands move back during his knee pinch load. Stride is controlled and he maintains balanced. Path is downhill and bat speed is developing. Top of the lineup bat with line drive pop. A middle infielder that moves light on his feet. First step is quick and he gets solid reactions off the bat. Lateral mobility and glove are both above average for class. Actions are confident. Arm is clean with enough strength to play the left-side. A two-way prospect that brings an athletic presence to the mound. Works with good tempo and rhythm. A crossfire guy with a clean arm. Fastball gets out of his hand well, showing sink to both sides of the plate and run to his arm side. Expect much more velo to come as he matures physically. Worked mostly with the fastball but flashed the breaking ball a few times. Maintained arm speed on the offering that worked on a 11/4 plane. The pitch is developing and from the limited viewing seen it looks to have potential. With his cross-fire action he may want to consider turning the 11/5 shape into more of a slider, so fastball and breaking ball can work from the same tunnel.

A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Uses a double tap to gather weight prior to his stride. Mechanism creates consistent timing. Hands stay loose prior to launch. Path is downhill with developing bat speed. Contact guy at this stage with feel for the barrel. A solid defender in the middle of the infield. Moves light on his feet, showing a quick first step. Glove works in his funnel and on the move. Mechanically clean with some confidence to his actions.
