8/7/16
6-foot-1, 195-pound strong, athletic build. Jake can swing the bat but what stands out is his ability behind the plate. Pop times are respectable at 2.08-2.17, but don't tell the full story. Receiving skills are impressive and he blocks with ease. Defensive abilities play at the college level right now. Arm strength is solid as he threw with 74 mph arm strength to second base. Shows leadership qualities behind the plate. At the plate he has a smooth stroke from the right side. Bat has a level path with above average batspeed. A hitter that will hit for a high average. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph.
2/13/16

At the plate he starts slightly open with an athletic setup from the right side. Takes his hands slightly back as he gets back to even with a short stride.
