Jimmy Schmitz: OF/RHP, (2024) Fairfield Christian Academy, OH. 5-foot-8, 155-pound. (59.8 mph bat speed average). (18.7 mph hand speed average). Starts in a tall balanced stance with a long active load, then uses a small leg kick. Has developing bat speed, long level swing plane and balanced level finish. In the round he found a few barrels with some loud contact. Base hit approach. Smooth capable in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 70 mph; has soft sure hands, athletic rhythmic feet, and a lengthy clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Solid capable on the mound, showed an over-the-top arm angle and a long arm action with developing arm speed. Tilt-and-topple type pitcher who shows decent effort. Tall balance point with downhill in line shoulders. Lands square with balanced finish. Shows both sides of the plate control and slight action with straight movement. (Max spin 1617; Avg 1511). He shows some slurvey action and in the zone control on his tight curveball. (Max spin 1623; Avg 1589). Threw a heavy changeup with down in the zone control and slight sinking action.
