Despite only running and hitting at the event, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound recent Louisville commit made a loud impression. He started the day by running a 7.00 laser-timed 60 and followed up with a intentful, loud round of BP. Nugent consistently showed off advanced bat strength and raw power to both gaps, consistently elevating the baseball. Nugent easily led the event in Max and average exit velocity at T103.1 and 95.8 mph average. His furthest batted ball traveled 377’ and he registered an event best 90% hard hit percentage.

Jimmy Nugent: C/C, (2022) Badin, OH. Penn State Commit, 6-foot-1, 210-pound. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's 102 mph exit velocity ranks him 2nd at the event. (67.5 mph bat speed average). (20.2 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed was explosive, showed a loose uphill swing plane and a back foot finish. While catching, he made strong, efficient throws to second at velocities up to 86 mph; had sure hands, a clean transfer, and consistent footwork. displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.84-1.93. Calm setup with some flexibility. Showed a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.84 60-yard dash.

Jimmy Nugent: C/3B, (2022) Badin, OH. Penn State Commit, 6-foot-2, 190-pound. In the box, Nugent had a max exit velocity of 96 mph. Began in an athletic balanced stance with a compact slow load, then used a controlled stride. Has explosive bat speed, upward swing plane and high finish. While catching, he made strong, efficient throws to second at velocities up to 83 mph; has a clean exchange, soft hands, and athletic feet. Had quick feet and transfers on his throw downs, recording a 1.87-1.97 pop time. Staggered setup with tons of flexibility. Showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.9.
