There are some minor things to clean up as he can get stuck and backside/get a bit too uphill at times but the natural tools are for real. Has a chance to be one of the more dynamic lefty bats in that class. BP was loud and he squared the ball up frequently against quality arms. Behind the dish he recorded pop times of 1.94-2.18 and threw with 78 mph arm strength. Arm really plays back there.
2/06/19
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 175-pound athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced position. Load is fluid, incorporating well timed movements that create easy energy and early acceleration. Hit: Swing really works. Athletic kid with easy whip through the zone. Swing has good depth to it as barrel enters the zone early and stays through for a long time. Fast twitch guy with heavy hands through the zone. Top BP of the day. Power: 90 mph exit velocity. Athletic gap guy right now who could grow into some occasional power. Offensive Projection: 3-hole look to him. Run: 7.17 60-yard dash. Field: In the infield he plays light on his feet with solid ball skills. Arm is top tool as a defender. Also worked out in the outfield. Plays with obvious athleticism and above average ball skills. Looks new to the position but athleticism and arm plays. Throw: Big arm at all three spots. Ball jumps out of hand with carry and accuracy. 84 mph from the outfield, 80 mph from the infield and 76 mph from the crouch. Defensive Projection: C/Corner OF/3B in that order. Additional Comments: Top position player prospect at the event. Scholarship level player who is somewhat under the radar now but will attract scouts attention this summer.
