6-foot, 155-pound  projectable frame. At the plate the right-handed hitter stands tall and a little spread out. Good load with toe pointed in. Slightly uphill swing quick hands and 88 mph exit velocity and ran 7.09-60. In the outfield he tends to sit back with a good transfer and crow hop to gain momentum. From a 3/4 slot he showed 82 mph arm strength. On the mound he has a slow tempo delivery with a clean arm and is on line at foot strike. From a 3/4 slot his fastball sits 82-86 mph. Has two kinds of breaking balls. His curveball shows has good shape at 69 mph. Throws his slider with good depth and late break at 74 mph, which has turned into a swing and miss pitch. Also, showcased a solid changeup at 79 mph with good arm speed.

5-foot-11, 150 pounds with a thinner projectable build. Outfielder plays through ground balls well, shows good footwork with good carry on his throws he reached a top velocity of 83 mph. Offensively, he starts from a wider stance, uses an upward bat path and shows good pop in his bat for his size that should increase with added strength to his frame. He reached a top exit velocity of 80 mph and ran a 4.53 down the line. On the mound he uses a shorter arm action with quick armspeed, through a ¾ slot. Delivery requires some effort. His fastball showed some cutting movement at times between 82-85 mph. His curveball had some sharpness to it thrown at an 11/5 plane at 68-72 mph. Threw his changeup using fastball armspeed at 73 mph. 

6-29-2018: The 6-foot, 180 pound righty showed the biggest velocity of the day for the CPL. Wells sat 94-95 mph, mostly 95 with his fastball. More of a thrower with a good arm, Wells attracted plenty of interest from the scouts in attendance. He has put himself on the map for some more looks in the near future. (Seifert)

7-10-2018: 6 feet, 180-pound athletic, strong build. Simple delivery with good tempo working in line to the plate. Clean, quick arm, throwing from a high slot and maintaining a level head. Pounded the zone with fastball at 94-95. In the stretch there is a slight dip to 91-93, touching 94. Shows the ability to get the fastball to both sides of the plate, mostly straight with downhill angle. Slider has 11/7 tilt at 79-82 with feel for the zone. Control over command. Flashed a change-up with fade at 80 mph. Got two quick outs in his inning of work pounding the zone with his fastball. Gave up a HR on a 0-2 slider that stayed up on the inner third of plate. Got hit around a bit after the homerun missing over the plate with his fastball. Typically a closer, Wells trough the 1st inning as the top vote receiver in the league. (Matt Payne)
