12/2/18 Right-handed pitching prospects in the ‘19 class. Slow tempo with an easy delivery. Arm works well through ¾ slot. Will drop arm occasionally on all offerings for deception. Fastball from traditional slot is mostly true with a bit extra run to it when he drops down. Sat in the 78-80 range velocity wise. Complements fastball with a tight slider at 73-74 mph. Not a big breaker but has impressive depth. Will change pace and spin a more of an 11/5 breaking ball as well. Both breaking balls are solid offering overall. Also flashed a knuckle that has some dance to it and was regularly in the zone. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Very efficient, athletic load followed by a level path to contact. Swing really works. Once he adds strength/twitch to swing he has a chance to be dynamic. Also looked the part behind the dish, showing some of the more impressive catch and throw abilities of the group. 60-yard Dash: 7.84 Pop Times: 1.91-1.96 Catcher Velocity: 75 Exit Velocity: 89
7/17/18 5-foot-11, 182-pound strong frame. On the bump the right-hander has good tempo to a delivery that requires little effort. Clean, loose arm through a high-¾ slot. Creates good direction down the mound, landing in line to home plate and finish carrying him forward. Fastball comes out easy while showing action to both sides of the plate. Sits 77-80 mph with the heater, showing signs of more velocity to come. Breaking ball is tight with depth on an 11/5 plane. Tosses the pitch at 71-74 mph with enough action to create inconsistent barrel contact. Breaking ball indicate the hand speed is there to throw harder down the road just needs to add strength. Also flashed a knuckle ball at 67-68 mph. The least used of the offerings but was in the zone when he showed it. Will drop slot from time to time on the fastball without losing velo. Arm to follow.
8/2/16 5-foot-11, 166-pound average frame. Ran a 5.23 from home to first. Behind the plate he does a nice job of getting in line to second base during his exchange. Footwork and exchange have room to get quicker. Pop times ranged from 2.18-2.32 and he threw to second base with 70 mph arm strength. At the plate he uses a leg kick to initiate his lower half and keeps his hands at launch position during his stride. Takes a downhill path to the ball with some batpseed. Produced line drives to his opposite field gap. Top exit velocity was 78 mph. On the mound the righty showed short, quick arm action while working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sat 75-77 mph and was complimented by an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that had bite to it at 65-67 mph. Also used a slider that broke across the zone at 69-70 mph.
9/25/19 Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Works with good tempo to a delivery that doesn’t require much effort. High- right-hander with above average arm strength. Fastball: 80-85 mph. Mostly true through the zone with slide arm side action at times. Works downhill. Curveball: 11/5, big breaker. Tossed the pitch with feel. His best pitch on the day. Pitchability: Settled in and filled it up for the better part of his outing, especially with the breaker.
