Lucas Gerken: RHP/3B, (2024) Napoleon, OH. 6-foot-2, 195-pound. In the box, Gerken had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. (61.9 mph bat speed average). (20.2 mph hand speed average). Began in a quiet athletic stance with a tight compact load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, has a loose uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Solid while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 72 mph; has sure hands, consistent feet, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. On the mound, used a compact arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Threw his fastball 78-79 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2072; Avg 1987). His curveball (68-71) has some sweeping action. (Max spin 2354; Avg 2308).
