Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
74.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Overall repeatable delivery, with a long arm action in the back from a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 79-81 mph fastball that’s mostly true through the zone. Seemed to be a pitch that would ‘jump on hitters.’
Curveball: 66-67 mph true curveball. Good topspin created decent depth on the pitch.
Changeup: 70-71 mph changeup that showed some sink and fade at times. Developing pitch that shows potential.
Pitchability: Overall showed decent feel for all three pitches. Changeup is definitely in the earliest stages of development of his pitches.
Role: Development of the changeup may dictate whether he’s more of bullpen or starter type.
1/21/19 Body Type: 6-foot-2 180-pound athletic build.
Swing Mechanics: Crouched setup. Uses a back load with hands during short stride for timing leading to a balanced launch.
Hit: Aggressive, slight downhill stroke that led to hard ground balls and low line drives. All fields hitter with more natural ball flight to the opposite field gap.
Power: 75 mph exit velocity. Swing offers more strength than speed. Physical kid that should grow into gap abilities as he adds loft.
Offensive Projection:
Run: 7.23 60-yard dash.
Field: Has the frame for the third base position. Athletic feet with above average lateral mobility. Ball skill are above average for class.
Throw: 74 mph arm strength across the infield. Long, loose arm that was mostly accurate.
Defensive Projection: 3B.
1/15/18
Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. In the infield he plays with calm footwork inside his funnel. Fields the ball deep in his body prior to funnelling to stomach during transfer. Would like to see him create angles to play through the baseball more efficiently, allowing him to keep momentum into his throws. Threw across the infield with 70 mph arm strength. Has the glove and athleticism for the spot. A right-handed hitter that starts in a narrow stance. Hands move back at release, creating solid separation and allowing him to launch from a balanced position. Path is slightly uphill with above average bat speed through the zone. Has some room to grow mechanically but the tools are there. Top exit velocity was 77 mph. A two way prospect. On the bump the right-hander works with a slower paced tempo. Rolls through his chest high leg lift into his hip load. Lands on line to home plate at foot strike with his momentum carry towards home plate at finish. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot, showing developing arm speed. Fastball stays mostly true through the zone sitting 73-76 mph. Offers a changeup and breaking ball for his secondary options. Maintains arm speed on his 68-69 mph changeup that has some late arm side life. Breaking ball has an 11/5 shape to it with gradual movement at 58-62 mph.
