Delivery/Scouting Notes: One of the top arms we saw from the Canes org. What a difference a year has made for McElroy. Was 73-77mph at this event last year and now has climbed up to 85mph. Don't expect that trend to stop considering athleticism, efficient movement patterns and substantial room left on frame to add strength. Stock way up here. Fastball: Heavy pitch that got up to 85mph. Above average spin rate guy. Breaking Ball: Sharp, late action that travels on an 11/5 plane. Changeup: Well above average offering, good depth with fastball arm speed. Pitchability: Carved.

Hit: Upright setup. Very fluid, athletic move into a balanced launch. Path plays with a bit more speed than strength to hands presently but also at early stages of development. Has feel for contact. SOlid round. Power: Line drive pop with much more to come. Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles. Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 82.5 Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 209 Field: Took average routes to the ball with decent footwork. Could quicken up his release but plays through the ball relatively well. Defensive Projection: Corner OF
1/20/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Throws from a low ¾ arm slot and his arm action is a bit long in the backside. Fastball: Fastball was 73-77 mph and showed some sink and arm side life at times. Fastball Spin Rate: 2000-2200 Curveball: Showed a 66-67 mph slurvey breaking ball that had good spin and bite. Curveball Spin Rate: 1800-2000 Changeup: Changeup was 70-71 mph and had some depth and paired well with his fastball. Pitchability: Shows a quality three pitch mix with good feel for all three pitches. Could be a guy to keep an eye on as he adds strength and velocity.

Ran an 8.34 60-yard dash. Plays with a slower paced tempo in the outfield. Does a nice job with his feet to maintain momentum through fielding into his throws. Ball skills are above average. Incorporates a big crow hop for momentum prior to throwing with 63 mph arm strength to home plate. A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Loading sequence is filled with fluid, efficient movements. Swing is level and barrel showed solid direction through the zone. A contact guy now but much more in there. Swing is efficient so any added strength should translate into easy increase in pop. Recorded a top exit velocity of 72 mph. A young right-handed pitching prospect with feel for three pitches. Delivery requires regular effort. Uses a long arm action and ¾ slot. Fastball sat 62-64 mph with slight arm side run. Curveball has 12/6 shape with developing depth at 54-55 mph. Also showed a changeup with cutting action at 58-60 mph. Showed the ability to throw all three pitches for strikes.
