5-foot-11 and 135-pound right-handed pitching prospect. Stone has some funk in his delivery. Uses a chest high lift before rolling into a hip load. Works out of a ¾ slot with a long arm action finishing closed at foot contact. Offered a three pitch mix on this day. Fastball sat 66-68 MPH showing cutting action to both sides of the plate. Shows good feel for a breaking ball that has 11/5 shape with gradual break sitting 61-63 MPH. Changeup is still developing. The pitch sat 63-64 MPH with occasional arm side run. Two-way prospect. Swings it from the right side of the plate, starting in an athletic setup. Shows well abvoe average strength/bat speed for class. Goes with a leg kick for timing while launching bat from a strong position. Path is level and he finds plane well. A line drive guy presently with much more to come. Will use the entire fields. Would like to see him loosen up top hand to create more whip through the zone. In the outfield he plays fast two the baseball prior to fielding in the middle of his body. Arm shows carry with adequate strength for class. Would be aided by learning to play one-handed through the baseball to maintain momentum through fielding and into his throws. Ball skills are developing.
