10/8/17 Initiates swing from slightly open set up with short stride while staying open. Hands work well being short and direct to baseball. Head is still with good balance and Ferl creates solid leverage in staying behind the baseball. The bat is on plane early and maintained late in the hitting zone. There is limited separation contributed to by a passive load and early hand movement. A bat exit velocity of 81 mph was recorded.
Defensively, as primary middle infielder Ferl fielded ball out front and bottom up with soft hands. Throwing motion is somewhat long and benefit would be gained from attacking and playing through ball more aggressively. Arm strength may necessitate move to right side of infield.
