Body Type: 6-foot-3 205-pound prospect with a projectable frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Quicker tempo delivery with some extra movement. Balanced through lift and stride. Slings it from a low-3/4 slot.

Fastball: 67-72 mph fastball is mostly straight with slight sinking action at times.

Slider: 56-62 mph slider has a sweeping 11/5 action. Presently shows early and looks a little slurvy.

Changeup: 62-66 mph changeup has slight sinking action through the zone. Pitch is thrown with fastball arm action.

Pitchability: Presently offers average pitchability for his age. Struggled with fastball command during most of the session. Best offering was the changeup, which will play once fastball command improves.

Body Type: 6-foot-3 205-pounds

Swing Mechanics: Starts in an upright stance and slightly open. Had good control of the barrel through the zone with a pull dominant approach.

Hit: Shows solid ability to find the barrel with his swing and potential to drive ball to all fields.

Power: 93 mph exit velo which is well above average for his class. Ball jumps off the bat, especially for a 2021

Offensive Projection: Porter’s raw power will be the separating factor for him compared to other prospects in his class. If he continues to add strength and size to his big frame he has potential to be a true power threat at the next level.

Run: 5.47 home to 1st

Field: A little tentative going after the ball, needs to be more aggressive and play hops. Showed a decent glove and feel around the bag. Definite 1B type.

Throw: Arm strength didn’t match his raw power at the plate as he was 70 mph across the diamond but good enough to be at 1B.

Defensive Projection: Presently, a ‘1B only’ type of defender at the next level.
