Nate Scanlon: OF, (2023) Dayton Christian, OH. 5-foot-10, 143-pound. During batting practice, Scanlon clocked an exit velocity of 84 mph. Begins in an athletic stance with a quick load, then uses a short stride. Has above average quick bat speed, simple swing plane and high good extension on his finish. Capable in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 76 mph; had in control footwork, sure hands, and a twitchy exchange. Glovework was used out front.  

Hit: 2023 to keep an eye on. Fluid mover in the box with obvious athleticism. Swing is loose, generating natural whip through the zone. Consistently sprayed line drives to the middle of the field in BP.
Power: Gap abilities. Much more to come.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: One of the top defenders in the outfield we saw. Good athlete with ball skills and an above average arm.
Throw: Work well, easy additions.
Defensive Projection: Multiple Spots.

Hit: Upright setup with a fluid, athletic look to his pre swing movements. Gets to a balanced launch prior to accelerating the barrel through contact on a slightly downhill path. Much more to come natural tools wise as he develops physically.
Power: Line drive pop.
