Nick Cassell: 2B/SS, (2021) Tecumseh, OH. Muskingum University Commit, 5-foot-11, 155-pound athletic frame. At the plate, Cassell had a max exit velocity of 84 mph. Began in a tall stance with a smooth load, then used a leg kick. Had average bat speed and a level swing plane. Athletic while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 79 mph; had athletic footwork, a clean exchange, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.69.
Hit:Lefty swinger with a smooth tempo throughout swing sequence. Compact stroke that plays to the inside of the baseball. Showed above average rotational acceleration abilities up to 20gs according to blast. Power:Line drive pop. Offensive Projection:Top of lineup. Max BP Exit Velocity:86 mph Max BP Distance: 274 ft Field:Solid skill set in the infield. Feet are well-timed/mechanically efficient. Ball skills on par for class. Throw:Will use multiple slots and can throw on the move. Developing strength. Defensive Projection: 2B
1/20/20 Position Player
Hit: Smooth mover in the box from the left side. Barrelled up everything in BP and sprayed it around the yard. Still developing physically but he has the barrel accuracy down.
Power: Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles. Good athlete with feel for contact.

Field: In the infield he shows good footwork and good actions and angles through the ball. Slow release on his throws.

Delivery Notes: Slower paced tempo on the bump to a delivery that requires some effort. Long back arm action through a high-3/4 slot. Slight first base finish.
Fastball: Fastball shows regular arm side action. Should see more mphs in the tank. Flashed a four seam and two seam. 77-80 mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1700-1900.
Curveball: Gradual action on an 11/5 plane. More of a get ahead pitch than a put away offering at this stage. 62-63 mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1600-1800.
Pitchability: Strike thrower for most part.
Body Type: 5-foot-11, 145-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Fluid, smooth loading sequence. Athletic actions in the box.
Hit: Athletic stroke that stays inside the baseball well. Swing is a bit quicker than it is strong at this stage. All fields hitter that showed pull side authority.
Power: Flashed pop to the gaps with more to come.
Offensive Projection: Top of the lineup guy.
Field: In the infield he plays with quick, active feet and the ability to create angles. Athletic actions out there. Hands work well.
Throw: Shorter arm action with developing strength.
Defensive Projection: 2B.

A lefty swinger that starts in a balanced setup. Flows through load, taking hands back near shoulder during his toe turn timing mechanism. Path is uphill and he does a nice job of getting on plane with the pitch. Natural tools are developing. Contact type guy at this stage. Looked confident and athletic in the outfield. Actions are smooth and he plays through the baseball well. Throws were consistently on the bag.
