OF Rodney Rachel (Badin, 2023; OH) joins the Statesmen this fall and figures to be an impact newcomer for Lincoln Trail in his freshman year. Rachel holds plenty of strength and athleticism within a muscled-up 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame, starting his day off by running a 6.79 60. Rachel showed high end bat speed in BP and the ability to regularly barrel the baseball to the opposite field as well. He averaged 95.8 mph per batted ball, the second highest mark of this event, with his hardest (100.6 mph) and furthest (379 ft.) barrels also finishing towards the top of the day’s hitting leaderboard. Rachel was accurate and on line from the outfield with his hardest throw checking in at 89 mph.

Rodney Rachel: OF/2B, (2023) Badin, OH. 6-foot, 190-pound. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter's 98 mph exit velocity ranks him 1st at the event. (80.68 mph bat speed average). (23.10 mph hand speed average). Starts in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, shows a level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels during his rounds. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 82 mph; showed soft hands, a natural fluid exchange, and athletic feet. When fielding he gathers the ball out front. Had a long arm action and decent accuracy to the bag. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.96 60-yard dash.

5-foot-11, 185-pound. Athletic during batting practice, Rachel clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. Begins in a wide open stance with a quick controlled load, then uses a short stride. Had a level swing plane and quick bat speed. He produced some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Line drive approach. Athletic while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph; had athletic footwork, a fluid exchange, and sure hands. Glovework is shown out front While catching, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 74 mph; shows quick feet, soft hands, and a natural exchange. Had a pop time of 2.02-2.10. Has staggered setup.
