6-foot-0 and 190-pound right-handed pitching prospect with a strong build. Has some rhythm in a delivery that requires regular effort. Uses big leg lift while stacking over the backside. Creates some shoulder tilt during the stride working slightly across the body. Fastball sat 82-84 MPH on this occasion with slight run. Breaking works well off the fastball, the pitch has late break on a 11/5 tilt sitting 75-77 MPH. Also flashed a 78-79 MPH changeup that shows regular run to the arm side.
1/28/17 6-foot, 190 pounds with an average, athletic frame on the mound. Uses a quick tempoed delivery with easy effort to his arm action. Pounds the zone with a heavy 81-83 mph fastball. The 74-75 mph slider displays late break on the plate. Also mixes in a 77-78 mph changeup with arm speed that looks exactly like his fastball making it hard to read out of his hand.
1/31/16 6-foot, 169-pound projectable frame. At the plate he starts in an athletic position and has good rhythm and fluidity to his load. Using a small leg kick he gather his weight and uses a bat tip to initiate his hands as he strides forward. A strong kid who displayed very good bat speed by registering an exit velocity of 88 mph. In batting practice he consistently squared balls up and showed gap to gap power. Had looseness to his arm from the outfield and the ball came out of his hand very well. Showed aggressive footwork but could get more out of his crow hop. Expect his 85 mph arm strength to home plate to increase once he learns to incorporate his lower half more efficiently. On the mound he shows some rhythm in his delivery that requires some effort. Shows good direction to the plate landing on line at foot strike. Throws over the top with quick arm speed. Two pitch mix with the fastball sitting 78-82 mph. Curveball has gradual break with a 11/5 tilt at 71-72 mph.
9/29/19 Mechanical/Delivery Notes:Movements come together well. Delivery is relatively clean/easy. Fastball:Mostly true through the zone with arm side life at times. 81-83 mph. Should have more velocity in the tank. Curveball:Spins the breaker well. Quality depth with some bite to it. 73-75 mph. Pitchability:Strike thrower for the most part.
