6-foot, 187-pound prospect. Ran a 5.01 from home to first. In the outfield he did a nice job of fielding the ball on his glove side foot. Plays through efficiently. Crow hop could be more effective. Threw to home plate with 77 mph arm strength. At the plate he starts balanced prior to using a short stride for timing. Barrel and hands are loose providing added whip through the zone. Takes an uphill path with solid strength through contact. Used a middle away approach in BP. Top exit velocity was 82 mph. On the mound he has three pitches in his repertoire with his fastball sitting 73-75 mph. Spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with gradual break at 62-64 mph. Had some feel for a changeup he threw near fastball armspeed.
7/26/16
Versatile right-handed hitting outfielder from Ohio that can jump on the bump as well. On the mound, fastball touched 77 mph with arm-side run to it. The breaking ball is soft, needs additional fastball hand speed to it, sitting 63-64 mph. The slider is a better pitch for him, at 69-70 with a chance to be an above average pitch. Pounded the zone with strikes out of a simple lift, point glove to the target and pitch out of a slightly higher than ¾ slot. There is glove side pull taking his direction off target. Positionally, threw 77 mph from the outfield with carry and accuracy. Was active in the game, backing up and getting off the ball well. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 80 mph. Sets up nicely, wide base, bottom half under control, good separation and uses the barrel very well. The path is flat and he stays in position to contact. Like the bat and what is to come offensively.
