Tyler Dermott: LHP/OF, (2023) Walsh Jesuit, OH. 6-foot-3, 190-pound sturdy athletic frame. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used uninterrupted slot and a loose consistent arm action. Projectable advanced on the mound, used a short clean arm action and a ¾ arm angle while showing quick consistent arm speed. Tilt-and-topple type pitcher and shows easy effort. Tall balance point with downhill shoulders. Lands square with upright recoil finish. (Max spin 2435; Avg 2325).
Tyler Dermott: LHP/OF, (2023) Walsh Jesuit, OH. 6-foot-3, 190-pound. Solid on the mound, showed consistent arm speed, also used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Balance point is tall with downhill shoulders during delivery. Lands soft with balanced finish. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2270; Avg 2135). Has late action on his 2/8 slider. (Max spin 2077; Avg 1962).
Scouting Notes: Standout performance. 6-foot-2 southpaw up to 83mph. with a tight breaking ball. Ball comes out easy and he was 87mph. from the outfield so there could be more in the tank presently and undoubtedly more down the road.
Fastball: 81-83mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1946-2135rpm.
Breaking Ball: 76-77mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1672-1794rpm.
Hit:Looks the part physically at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Simpel stroke with an uphill path to contact. Strength/speed guy who can do damage when he connects.
Power:Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Middle ceiling.
Field:Fluid tempo with ball skills on par for class. Overall solid showing. Absolute cannon for an arm.
Throw: Huge arm.
Defensive Projection:Corner skill set.
Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Rotational swing sequence with pull side tendencies in BP. Ball jumps when squared.
Power: Physical with sneaky bat speed. Loft power to pull.
Offensive Projection: Run producer ceiling.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 87mph.
Max BP Distance: 334ft.
Field: In the outfield he plays with an aggressive tempo in his approach. Mostly confident play throughout with serviceable ball skills.
Throw: Clean arm with above average strength.
Defensive Projection: Corner look.
Scouting Notes: Very interesting arm. 6-foot-2 southpaw with a loose arm out of a 3/4 slot. Up to 81mph with more to come. The knuckle curve was a legitimate cross breed between a breaking ball and knuckle. The pitch was filthy.
