11/11/16 Skelhorn is a big 6-foot-4 right-hander who was a horse for his Fieldhouse Pirates team in the CPBL last year. The righty repeats his delivery with easy mechanics, balance over the rubber and ¾ arm slot with downward angle. Works fastball both sides of the plate for strikes while using his off-speed to keep hitters off balance. Was up to 86 mph this fall and could be in line for a breakout 2017 summer with a strong winter. The size and actions project more to come from Skelhorn, as he will be counted on again to lead his Pirates this summer in league action.
10/5/14 - Strong projectable frame. Relatively new to the mound. Arm is easy and clean, at times can get inside the ball. 3/4 arm slot, showed potential to throw breaking ball. Was able to work downhill and get on top when delivery was in sync. Like the arm and size, innings and reps will play major role for Skelhorn and his development off the mound. Look forward to seeing him in 2015 after his first off-season as a pitcher.
