10.8.16 Big physical body at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. Worked from high-3/4 arm slot which seemed to be higher than last time we saw Deasy. Velocity was down a bit this outing but was still able to locate fastball on both sides of plate and spin his breaking ball with 12/6 shape for strikes. Look for Deasy to have a strong winter and with his clean actions and projectable pitchers body, should have a strong 2017 season.
Big frame at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds. Strong, thick lower half, chance to gain strength and get a lot stronger, very projectable pitchers body. Repeated his delivery well, arm worked from ¾ slot, fastball was 80 mph with good downward plane. Curveball had 11/5 shape and with downward angle. Changeup sat 70-72 mph with some arm side fade. Threw all three pitches for strikes. Showed good feel on mound, tempo, rhythm, and composure was there. Also took reps at first base were he made the plays around the bag. Showed some agility for big man. Right-handed hitter who didn’t get cheated during batting practice. Showed power to his pull side, exit velocity was 83 mph. Good looking 2017 grad who projects off the mound.
