At 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, Souls has a long and lanky frame with room to fill out and add some size. At the plate, starts off from a very narrow, open stance. Best swings came when Soules stayed balanced at the plate, stayed inside the ball, drove the bat through the ball and finished with a clean follow-through. Quick and whippy arm action across the diamond and shows a feel for the position. Displays some lower half and athleticism. On the mound, works downhill from a high-¾ slot with clean arm action and good tempo. Fastball has some late tail and tops out at 81 mph. Showed feel for his changeup, which sat between 70-72 mph. Able to spin his curveball with good downward depth. The 2020 two-way player shows tools on the mound as well as in the box and will be a lot of fun to watch as he continues to develop and get stronger.

Soules is a young 2020 prospect who showed well at shortstop and on the mound during his teams scout day. 6-foot-1, 150-pounds, athletic frame with room to add and take on more size. Showed feel for the mound as the arm was clean and easy as fastball topped out at 78 while he spun his curveball with rotation in the 62-64 range. Defensively at shortstop was able to move well and the glove actions were soft with some feel. At the plate, cuts himself off at times with his swing as he starts from an open and upright stance. Overall a young player with clean arm and actions off the mound. Will be one to follow into 2018.
