2021 grad, Jackson Smith of the Burlington Bulls put together a solid showing on Friday night. At the plate, Smith got on plane early, and when late was still able to spray a couple of balls to the left side of the field. The bat-to-ball skills are there, and he puts together quality at-bats. He was 4.44-4.50 out of the box, accelerating as he got closer to the bag. He wasn’t tested behind the plate on this day, but received fairly well and moved around comfortably behind the dish. He impacted the game with his legs and heads up base running, scoring from second on a wild pitch. With added strength, Smith will benefit, as he has the makings of being a contributor at the next level.
