Hands started and low and worked up with separation, which gave him a flat bat path to contact. Hard contact in batting practice to pull side. Showed some bat speed, exit velocity was 83 mph. Defensively, hands worked, arm slot from low-3/4, average feet, made the plays while he was 74 mph across the diamond. Off the mound, Nelson kept his arm slot with tailing action on his 78 mph fastball. Stayed compact in delivery, at times would fall of to first base side. Changeup had fade at 73 mph while showed feel to spin breaking ball at 68 mph. Arm was clean off the rubber, more in the tank for the 2017 grad.
