An uncommitted 2018 classman, Barrett has a broad and projectable frame, with a need to add more athleticism as he develops a pitcher. On the mound, Barrett works from an easy and natural ¾ delivery. Delivery was repeatable and was able to throw all three of his pitches for strikes. Fastball sat 83-86 mph with some arm-side run down in the zone. Changeup worked well off his fastball with some late fading action and a good change in velocity at 76-79 mph. Curveball showed good bite with an 11/5 shape at 73-75 mph. The uncommitted classman will be an interesting pitcher to watch over the summer - he has a polished three-pitch mix and the projectability to continue to improve.
Barrett is loose and easy while his fastball jumped up to 86 mph this day. Controlled, effortless delivery that allows him to repeat and throw strikes, feel for off-speed stuff, changeup shows fade at 72-74 while the breaking ball works 69-73 with tilt when he gets on top and out front. Like how the arm and body works down the mound, Barrett is a guy to stay on as he shows the signs of continuing to get better every time we see him.

Barrett is a 2018 grad listed at 5-foot-8, 180-pounds with room to add strength. Arm worked well from 3/4 arm slot with looseness, repeated delivery ad controlled his body . Fastball worked down in zone for strikes and showed arm side run with a top velocity of 83 mph while he sat mostly 81 mph for his pen. Mixed in both curveball and changeup. Breaking ball was 69-73, would cast pitch a times, threw two really good ones with 11/5 shape down and away. Changeup had fading action when he was able to get out front and work bottom of the zone at 72-74 mph. Three pitch guy who should gain velocity as he matures and gets stronger. Off speed pitches have feel and arm works with some quickness out front.
