An athletic and quick shortstop, Nicholas Jaeggin has a projectable frame, quick hands, and some juice in his bat from the right side. At the plate, Jaeggin has a short stroke with not a lot of moving parts, generates great and effortless bat speed and keeps the bat in the zone for a long time. Makes hard contact consistently, smooth and quiet extension with good balance at the plate. On the base path, Jaeggin shows high baseball IQ and aggressive base running. Not afraid to take the extra bag. In the field, Jaeggin has soft hands and shows athletic actions. Strength behind throws, arm works cleanly from 3/4 slot. The 16U Ontario Royals shortstop looks like a promising young prospect who will be interesting to watch as he continues to develop.
