Piccoli was the top performer at the Whitby Canadians Scout Day and flashed upside on the mound and as a positional prospect. Immediately stood out with an athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds and got his day started on the mound where he sat 75-77mph (T77.8), along with a curveball at 65-66mph and changeup at 68-70mph. It was Piccoli’s round of BP that captured the yard’s attention as the right-handed hitter was elevating balls to the pullside. He easily put together the loudest round of BP on the day with a peak exit velocity of 86.5mph, distance of 312ft. Plenty to work with here and it’ll be fun to where he’s at, development wise, come next fall.
