2027 OF/RHP Theo Lima was the big winner on the day as his average exit velo of 98mph would have been the third best max exit velo at the event (107.1mph max EV). Lima put together a special round of BP and one of the best our staff has seen this spring as he was backspinning and elevating to the pullside with a Hard-Hit% of 100mph, peak distance of 363ft and exit velocity of 107.1mph. Showed some big tools beyond the bat as he posted the top outfield velocity on the day at 93mph and ran a 4.20 30-yard dash. It’s the positional tools that really capture your attention but there’s potential on the mound, as well, where the arm strength plays and the fastball sits 85-86mph (2440+). Also featured a breaking ball at 71-72mph (2800+), slider at 72-74mph (2650+) and changeup at 79-81mph. Ontario’s 4th-ranked prospect and should draw plenty of attention this summer.

Lima put together arguably the best rounds of three rounds of BP on Tuesday (along with Zwarich) where his physicality, strength and quick-twitch muscles were on full display. The right-handed hitter is able to generate hard contact even when he’s not finding the barrel, but lives in the upper-90s, low-100s when he does. Lima's peak exit velocity of 100.9mph was the best on the night (hit 100+ four times), as well as his average exit velocity of 92.8mph. Ontario has two big power hitters atop the 2027 rankings and Lima isn't far behind with the capabilities in his bat.

At an event that featured multiple standouts on both sides of the ball, Lima may have been the biggest winner over the two-day showcase. There’s present strength in his game from a smaller, yet physical frame at 5-foot-9, 180-pounds. The right-hander has good characteristics in his three-pitch mix with a fastball sitting 83-85mph from a short and clean arm path. The slider was 72-74mph (2430rpm avg) with tight, sweeping action, along with a changeup at 79-80mph with late, downward action. At the dish, Lima put together the best round of the day as he was consistently back spinning balls in the air to the pullside. The young 2027 had all of his tools on display in Ajax and made some noise as he begins the fall season.
