Holiday Hitters Toronto II Showcase
Uncommitted 2026 OF Yuya Nakamura (Toronto Mets) overall numbers have continued to jump since we first saw him last fall, developing well as a hitter, as well as on the mound. Athletic stature at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds with plenty of room for added weight/strength going forward. The right-handed hitter worked middle to pullside with a healthy mix of line drives (42%) and flyballs (38.5%), also showing the ability to drive the ball at times with a peak distance of 353ft (214ft avg). Peak exit velocity of 95.7mph and average of 82.7mph. Another good showing this year for Nakamura who has the tools and ability to play at the collegiate level down south. 226th-ranked prospect in Ontario’s senior class and would be much higher if you don’t account for reclassed players (2025s).

2026 OF/RHP Yuya Nakamura was a standout at the Toronto Fall ID in October and has really trended upwards since then with some added strength, now standing at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds. The York Simcoe Titans prospect possesses equal upside on both sides of the ball, as a positional or as an arm. There’s some whip in the right-handed bat that works gap-to-gap with a hit-first approach that generated a peak exit velocity of 91.3mph (7+mph increase) and a peak exit velocity of 301ft. On the mound, the right-hander has the ability to locate the FB at 80-82mph, along with a curveball at 66-67mph, slider at 70-71mph, splitter at 71-72mph and sinker at 77mph. Another good showing from Nakamura who continues to get better each time we have eyes on him.
