Setting up in a wider base with a slight crouch and the hands moving, Couture utilizes a minimal stride to separate the hands slightly back before ripping them through the zone on a flat path. Puts a short forward move on the ball to create stretch against his hands. Offensively flashed impressive bat speed with a balanced approach that provided for some controlled-aggression with each swing. Noticeable strength in wrists/hands. He has a more pronounced, single-handed finish as he gets quality use of the lower-half and hips. Defensively, the size and strength combo profiles well for a corner INF spot. Keeps choppy, active feet while waiting to receive the ball and when he moves laterally. Sinks hips to get low to the ball and lets it travel deep into his set-up while funneling in. High, chest height exchange into throwing motion. ¾ release point with a compact arm path. Adjusted slot as needed on double play feeds and slow rollers.
