A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball

Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

2/27/22
Physical: Taller, projectable 5-foot-11, 145lb frame. 7.60 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, even stance with a high-handed start above the head. Utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate a flat path into the hitting zone. Repeated the slot and was able to handle pitches at the letters on a line drive approach towards an on-plane two-handed finish. Recorded some gap to gap, flush contact up to a T75 mph bat-exit velocity. Barrel-lag present, sequenced well, more power coming.
Defensively: The outfielder worked downhill over the toes with good chest angle on the ball. Fielded off his right side, sometimes over the middle and turned the shoulders, releasing from an accurate OTT slot to the plate (72 mph arm).
Pitching: LHP - The southpaw begins from the stretch only. Shallow leg lift and gets over the front side well from a shorter, H ¾ slot. The FB landed at 71-73 mph, straight and mixed a 56-58 mph CB on a 1/7 tilt. Developing 64-66 mph CH feel at 1492rpms.
