8.23.18

5-foot-8, 175-pound, solid, thick, strong athletic frame, a well proportioned athlete. Committed to Rhode Island College after this event, had a tremendous workout. A two way player, performed well on both sides of the field. At the plate, was on base all day and made hard contact. The stance is even, wider than shoulder width and balanced, simple approach to the baseball. The hands are loose at the shoulders, lower half is under control, simple pick up and put down with stride foot. The swing is short to the baseball, stays through it and finishes high with one hand. The hands work with easy effort, approach is more line drive looks to go middle to pull side. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 76 mph, more in there as he adds strength. Ran the sixty-yard dash at 7.40 on a slow track. Defensively, from the outfield footwork is advanced steps through and gains ground. The arm action is clean and works out of a high ¾ slot, clocked at 81 mph. Throws are down hill and gives the fielder something to handle. Off the mound, gets loaded up on the backside, direction is inline and builds momentum down the mound, looked to be comfortable. The arm action is tick longer, with a small jab on the backside, comes through from a high ¾ slot. The fastball reached 81 mph, lived in the bottom part of the zone. Showed feel for both secondary pitches, changeup has fade and down action clocked at 74 mph, sold with good arm speed. The breaking ball had a bigger top to bottom break, clocked at 65 mph. Solid sign will be a good one.

5-foot-8, 175-pound right-handed hitting infielder, had solid at bats in live game action. Ran a 7.43 sixty on the laser at the event. Threw 79 mph across the diamond out of a high slot. The glove is solid, the feet need to continue to improve through the ball to aid the fielding process. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 79 mph. The set up is wide in base, small forward lean to front foot as swing is initiated. The path is uphill at times, bat path is cleaner in live game action. On the mound, the fastball touched 80 mph, true in shape. The spin pitch is 66 mph, big in shape. The changeup is a work in progress, sitting at 70 mph. The delivery is online with his feet, high slot. The tracking is appropriate, deceptively jumps into foot strike. The glove side is tucked and the ball is hidden at times.

5-foot-8, 165-pound, average athletic frame, shoulders are rounded off, has plenty of room to fill out. A two-way player, off the mound, has a simple delivery, has tempo and timing to it, hands start low, work up, with his controlled high leg raise. The direction is inline, glove stays inside the frame, pounds the zone with three pitches. The arm action has average length to it, works out of a ¾ slot, fastball was clocked at 75-79 mph. The curveball, is probably his best pitch, spin is correct, with tilt and depth to it, clocked at 65 mph. The change was thrown for strikes at 70 mph, still a work in progress. Offensively, hits from the right side, feet are wider than shoulder width, hands are loose at shoulder height, bat starts in a flat position. The swing is level to up, finishes with two hands. The lower half is under control, gets separation with hands from body. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 71 mph. In game swings were good, collected two singles. Defensively, shows soft hands, clean transfer, arm works clean, clocked at 73 mph. The footwork needs to be quicker to stick up the middle. Projects for me off the mound, the ability to throws strikes and spin the baseball is advanced for his age.

Home-First: 4.69
