West Virginia commit. Quite the showing would be an understatement for the type of performance Acevedo put together across conference championship week. Ridiculous power showing in the HR Derby earlier in the week with double-digit home runs and carried over a potent barrel right into gameplay. Outlandish strength in the physical 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame with tons more to project. Hit a towering solo shot in my first look at the senior and followed it up with a 108 exit velocity 3 RBI double in a massive spot. The LHH is extremely well-leveraged through the zone in an uphill path with premium bat speed and ability to create backspin to the pull-side with ease. Syncs up well in a hanging trigger and body control stands out as he is always consistently on-time. Advanced accuracy and impact in the barrel with ability to manipulate on-plane backed by adjustability in the hands. Shows the ability to go to all-fields with authority when needed in a more pull-side approach. Defensive flexibility between the outfield and hot corner with arm strength present and chance to be a carrying tool long-term. The profile has a chance to continue to grow with much more to tap into towards a significant ceiling and looks every bit of a day one impact in Morgantown.
