7/5/17 - Max FB: 81, FB: 78-81, CB: 71-72, CH: 74-76 5-11. 175-pound, LHP has an athletic frame and stays under control throughout his motion, stays focused on the target and maintains some steady posture throughout, a higher leg lift leads to some shoulder tilt and a drop and drive descent on the plate, strides in line and uses a longer arm action through a 3/4 slot. 10/16/16 - Max FB: 81, FB: 78-81, CB: 71-72, CH: 74, 5-foot-11, 170-pound, LHP showed his same simple motion that includes a turn of his front foot to simulate a rocker step that leads into a controlled leg lift, gets some shoulder tilt at the top of his delivery and jumps at the hitter with his straight-legged stride and ability to hide the ball well, strides in line and uses a long and athletic arm action through a high ¾ slot, typically finishes well balanced and under control, competed similarly to his outing at the Top Prospect Games without matching his previous velocity. Fastball showed a lot of run through the zone, curveball wasn’t its sharpest but had 1/7 shape, changeup was thrown with fastball arm speed and showed sink and some fade for strikes. Kasick struck out 2 and didn’t allow a hit in his two innings of work.
6/14/16 - Max FB: 83, FB: 78-81, CB: 68-71, CH: 71-72, 5'11, 160-pound, LHP showed a funky delivery in which he seemingly just turns his body throughout his rocker step and stays very tall until exploding toward home plate, pretty conventional leg lift leads into an awkward stride toward home plate, strides directly toward the plate and finishes very balanced and stable over his right leg, long and athletic arm action comes through a high ¾ angle. Fastball showed some really sharp run that comes late in the zone and on the hands of hitters and was also thrown for a lot of strikes, breaking ball was a sweeping slider with some 2/8 action and had quite a few hitters weak in the knees, changeup was a good change of pace and showed some late fade. Kasick pitched with good tempo and had a strong presence on the mound.
