6/14/16 - 60 Time: 7, Position Velocity:  OF-89, Exit Velocity: 79
5'11, 180-pound, RHH hits from a tall and slightly open stance and uses a short stride and a lengthy load of the hands to get himself loaded, uses a lot of weight shift and transfer throughout the swing, sways back on load and comes forward throughout his swing.  Lower half does get through, but overall a handsy swing, seemingly flicks at the ball on contact and doesn’t quite get all the way through it, does have the ability to hit the ball to all fields.  Defensively, fields the ball a little deep and doesn’t work through it quickly, was able to show off his arm strength using a long arm action through an over-the-top release, displayed very good accuracy with a lot of life on it.  Strong kid is athletic and played fluidly in the OF.

6/14/16 - Max FB: 87, FB: 84-87, 75-76 Slider
5'11, 180-pound, RHP has a quick arm that works through a short but loose arm action, high ¾ arm slot helps create some very good run and sink on his fastball that bears down on RHH’s on the inside corner and can come back over the plate when started away. High leg kick and explosiveness toward the plate can really help him get on hitters, falls off toward first base. Showed a sharp breaking ball with more of a 11/5-10/4 action than in the past that has some real swing and miss potential, made a couple of athletic plays on the mound.  Woody has increased velocity each time we’ve seen him and seems to athletic enough to add a little more, as well.
10/25/15 - The athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound has a quick and loose arm that works through a high-3/4 slot , normal effort in delivery, comes at hitters aggressively, fastball sat at 82-83 mph touching 84 with significant arm side run and sink, likes to run the fastball in on the hands of right-handed hitters,  showed a good curveball at 73-74 mph with sharp 11/5 action. He also flashed a change with sinking action to it that sat 74-75 mph. Woody gave up four hits and had two strikeouts in two innings pitched during game play. He has continued to show an increase in velocity with more likely in the tank.
As a position player, posted a 7.08 60 time and had an 86 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Woody shows shorter/quick arm action from a high-3/4 release, some accuracy, good arm strength with life and carry, fluid footwork with athletic actions. Offensively Woody shows average bat speed from the right side and had a 79 mph exit velocity off the tee. Woody hits from a slightly open setup, has a mid-length stride, shows average overall balance, has a level path but drops his hands at times, is more of an opposite field type hitter. Woody went 0 for 3 during game play.
6/23/15 - The 5 foot 10, 165- pound prospect posted a 4.53 home to 1st time and had an 83 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Woody has good arm strength, short arm action, some accuracy, clean exchange, quick footwork and plays through the ball well. Offensively Woody had 73 mph exit velocity off the tee. Woody hits from a balanced setup, has a long stride, fair balance, lower half can collapse at times, has an aggressive approach, strong/quick hands but drops his hands at times. Woody is a pull type hitter and went 0-for-3 during  game play.  On the mound, throws from the high-¾ arm slot with a short, quick delivery to the plate. Did a great job spotting up with his fastball sitting at 80-81mph, topping out at 82mph with some cutting action. Curveball shows 11/5 trajectory with a very sharp break and some depth sitting from 65-67mph. Changeup at 74-75mph with occasional sinking action upon arrival to the hitters zone. Woody really competes on the mound.  During game play, Woody recorded two strikeouts and didn’t give up a hit in two innings pitched showing solid pitchability.
11/1/14 - 5-foot-8, 150 prospect with a smaller build frame. Has made some adjustments with a wider stance and shorter stride, hands tend to drop during approach producing a long, uphill swing, showed line drive ability when he squared it up, registered a big increase in exit velocity off the tee from previous event at 79 mph (71 at previous event), was 1-for-3 in game play with an RBI single. Madium arm action, high-3/4 arm slot, plays through the ball, 79 mph arm velocity. Has room to make strength gains that should translate to improvements with bat speed and overall game
