5 foot 8, 190-pounds showed strength in his short, stocky frame. Close to mature. Pitches from a ¾ arm slot on the 3rdbase side of the rubber. Repeatable and controlled delivery. Showed a longer arm action with a good down angle. FB showed occasional arm side run. CB showed correct shape and was able to be located in the zone. Steal a strike pitch. CH had arm speed and fade. Was around the zone with all 3 pitches.
2/3/19 - Max FB: 76, FB (73-74), CB (60-61), CH (63-65)
5-8, 190-pound lefty touched a tick higher than when we saw him last fall. Short, stocky frame w/ present lower half strength, close to mature. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ to H ¾ release from the middle of the rubber. Learning to consistently repeat his delivery, arm-slot. Some effort in throw, understands how to get lower half involved. Arm speed suggests more velocity is coming. Straight FB shows occasional short arm-side run. Medium downer CB flashes proper shape and rotation, more of a steal a strike pitch. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink. Weak contact pitch. Around the zone w/ his 3-pitch mix.
8/11/18 - Max FB: 75, FB: 73-74, CB: 60-61, CH: 62-64
5-foot-8, 195-pound, LHP showed three distinct pitches. Short, stocky frame w/ present strength throughout, close to mature frame. Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ release from the third base side of the rubber. Quiet, repeatable delivery. Angle. FB shows short arm-side run. Medium downer CB w/ proper shape and rotation. Flashes tightness. CH w/ short fade and sink, slows arm down slightly. Around the zone in the pen, shows ability to throw strikes w/ his 3-pitch mix, pitch w/ intent to both corners with his FB.
8/11/18 - 60 Time: 8.22, Position Velocity: IF-71, Exit Velocity: 77
5-foot-8, 195-pound, LHH projects best on the mound. Short, stocky frame w/ present strength throughout, close to mature frame. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into shift of weight, very short stride and short hand load. Some stiffness in the swing, occasional length. Shows ability to be in sync and generate some bat speed. Pull oriented approach. Projectable gap power. Defensively, shows solid hands and developing footwork.
