6/13/17 - H-1B: 4.47, Position Velocity: 85, Exit Velocity: 86
6’2, 193-pound, RHH was one of the most impressive players in the entire event and competed at a high level in all 3 facets of the game. Pearson is strong and athletic and showed the ability to really drive through the ball in BP, displaying some gap power a sense of confidence in the box. His bat path is simple, easily repeatable, and flat through the zone with some lift at the end. Defensively, he showed good hands and footwork around the corner with arm strength that allows him to make a number of plays that most cannot. Pearson has a very good feel for the game and is able to use that to his advantage in the box, in the field, and on the mound. In game play, he finished 1-3 with a walk.
6/13/17 - Max FB: 87, FB: 84-87, CB: 69-72, CH: 75-76,
6-foot-2, 193-pound, RHP was possibly the most impressive player of the entire event. Pearson has a strong and athletic build with potential on both sides of the baseball. He uses a smooth and quick arm action on the mound to deliver through a high ¾ slot. The ball jumps out of his hand and provides movement on every pitch. Fastball showed run and some sink when kept down and his curveball had 11/5 shape with some swing-and-miss bite at times. Changeup can be thrown for strikes and delivers a change of pace.
9/25/16 - Max FB: 86, FB: 84-86, CB: 72-74, CH: 75-79,
6-foot-2, 180-pound, RHP works quick with very good tempo and fluidity throughout his delivery, begins his motion with a well-timed and fairly high leg lift that brings his hands up a little bit before separating, uses some shoulder tilt and a loaded front side to lead his way toward the plate, strides in line and uses a shorter but loose and aggressive arm action through a high ¾ release point, showed some effort but has a strong and mostly balanced finish. Fastball was mostly straight but seemed heavy through the zone and showed some occasional and slight run, curveball had 11/5 shape and was very sharp through the zone for strikes, changeup was mostly straight.
