(Riverdale, 2024) has continued to make strides on the bump over the last year and since we saw him at the Riverdale Warrior Spring Break Classic last year where he was touching the mid-80’s. During their game last night against a very talented Thompson AL squad, Sholar worked in the mid-80’s and ran the fastball up to 88 and 89 mph early on in the game. The Motlow State CC recruit uses a quicker arm action from the right side that creates some late life to his heater. Showed both the slider and the changeup as secondary offerings. The slider has developed and become a sharper, tight shaped swing-and-miss type pitch on opposing hitters as it worked in the 73-77 mph range, his changeup dies at the plate and showed some fading action at 72-73 mph. As the frame continues to fill out and develop, there is no reason Sholar can’t work up to the 90 mph mark.
