6-foot-1, 195-pound, RHP shows better arm-speed than velocity indicates. Medium, athletic frame w/ high-waist, some present lower half strength, some physical projection. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Repeatable delivery w/ quick arm. Lower half just along for the ride, as he develops driving off his back leg, should have velocity closer to what the arm-speed suggests. Straight FB w/ occasional short cut. Medium downer CB w/ 12-6 life, best used to steal a strike. SL shows same bite and depth as the CB. CH w/ arm-speed, short fade and sink. Around the zone w/ 4 pitch mix, projects to command.
6-foot-0, 180-pound, RHP mixed in 4 pitches. Medium, athletic frame w/ lot of projection. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ short rocker step into 1st base side of rubber. Hand rhythm into balance point into leg drive and H ¾ release. Drifts down the rubber at times, can utilize legs and hips better. Repeatable w/ arm consistently on time. FB w/ occasional arm side run, occasional straight. Medium downer CB w/ average depth, comes up out of hand. ¾ tilt SL w/ proper shape. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and sink. Around the zone, projects to command.
5-foot-11, 160-pound, RHP works smoothly and showed good body control throughout his outing. Loose arm comes through a high ¾ slot and showed some athleticism. Should be some more velo in the tank that we may see sooner rather than later. Fastball was pretty straight with very slight run, but thrown for strikes and his curveball had 12/6 shape through the zone. Changeup could end up being a solid change of pace.
12/10/16 - 60 Time: 7.45, Position Velocity: OF-76, Exit Velocity: 81
5-foot-11, 160-pound, RHH hits from a taller and open stance with some initial hand positioning that is higher than average, uses a smooth but short stride with a lowering and movement back of his hands to get loaded, lower half works to clear his backside but keeps him tall throughout his swing, bat path is pretty flat through the zone, can seem handsy at times, produced some consistent a solid line drives up the middle. Defensively, he showed good hands with average footwork, could’ve played through the ball a bit more smoothly and with more confidence, didn’t seem to get everything behind his throws through a ¾ arm slot.
12/10/16 - Max FB: 74, FB: 71-74, CB: 59-60, CH: 62-63,
5-foot-11, 160-pound, RHP begins his motion with a slight turn and step, gets his front hip loaded very well at the top of his leg lift and explodes toward the plate in that manner, keeps his eyes fixed on his target throughout his delivery, strides in line and moves athletically on the mound, arm action is quicker than what his velo suggests, finishes under control out over his front leg. Fastball seemed heavy through the zone with a little sink at the end, breaking ball had 10/4 movement and could probably be considered a slider with some late break, changeup was a good pitch and thrown for strikes with some slight fade.
