6-foot-2, 190-pound, RHH improved every metric, including exit velocity by 4 ticks. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned present strength, projectable. Offensively, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into knee to knee stride to square w/ proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. Lot of moving parts. Showed ability to repeat his swing in the cage, flashed balance. Projectable pull power. Defensively, moves well at 3B w/ carry to target arm strength and solid hands.
6-foot-2, 190-pound, RHP showed improved velocity range from last time we saw him this fall. Tall, athletic, projectable build w/ lot of room to add muscle. Prototypical pitcher build. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ short rocker step towards the plate into foot reset w/ back foot angled on rubber for pushing off from the first base side of the rubber. Chest high leg kick into proper hand break and upright finish w/ ¾ release. Lands with front foot facing RHH’s, can work on improving that for direction. Repeats. Gets downhill, heavy ball. FB shows occasional arm-side run. Medium downer CB shows proper shape w/ average depth. Comes up out of hand. CH w/ arm-speed, fade and occasional sink. Shows ability to command FB, locates to both corners. Developing control of the strike zone w/ off-speed pitches.
6-foot-2, 190-pound, RHH showed a 7 mile per hour jump in exit velo from when we saw him last fall. Tall, athletic, projectable build w/ lot of room to add muscle. Offensively, hits with an open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Knee to knee stride to square w/ a little bit of a loopy load with his hands. Generates good torque with the near arm bar. Still learning to repeat same swing and stay on proper timing. Shows ability to consistently generate line drives. Defensively, shows good hands w/ good feet and arm strength with carry to target. Body works well defensively. Intriguing guy to monitor as he continues to fill out his frame.
6-foot-1, 185-pound, RHH w/ physical frame, good athlete for size. Medium, athletic build w/ physical lower half, upper body projection. Righty hits w/ an open stance, slightly crouched w/ back shoulder hand location and hands in front of body. Leg kick w/ power load lands open. Lot of movement. Has some power to the gaps. Some barrel feel. Power over average right now. Defensively, shows good hands w/ avg arm strength. Interesting 2019 prospect to follow
9/24/17 - Max FB: 78, FB: 74-78, CB: 60-64, CH: 68-70,
6-foot-1, 185-pound, RHP showed 2 tick velo jump from January. Pitches from a full wind-up w/ short rocker step and sets back foot on first base side of rubber. Balance point to leg drive to ¾ release point. Short arm action in back. Finishes upright. Deceptive w/ lot of limbs coming at you. FB w/ occasional short cut, occasional short arm side run. Still learning to repeat and keep fingers on top of the baseball. CB is big 12-6/11-5 w/ above average depth. Comes up out of hand. Good pitch to steal a strike with. Straight CH w/ armspeed. Has a feel for the strike zone, struggled w/ CB command in this outing. Given the velo jump from January, a definite follow to see how much more velo will be coming.
1/29/17 - Max FB: 76, FB: 73-75, CB: 62-63, CH: 68-69,
6-foot-1, 185-pound, RHP uses a quick and up-tempo delivery that avoids the use of much wasted movement, leg lift comes up quickly to get him loaded at the top, shoulders stay pretty even throughout, leg straightens out before striding in line and leads to a very short arm action through a high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight through the zone, curveball showed 11/5 shape with gradual movement, changeup was straight but can be thrown for strikes.
